The main senior fitness test was developed at the University of Fullerton , by Dr. Roberta Rikli and Dr. Jessie Jones . As such , the test is sometimes referred to as the test run of Fullerton . It is an easy to use simple battery of test items to assess the functional capacity of the elderly. The test described easily understood and tests to measure aerobic capacity , strength and flexibility using a minimum of equipment and cost .

The items of the senior fitness test aptitude test involving common activities such as rising from a chair , walking, lifting , bending and stretching . The tests have been developed to be safe and enjoyable for the elderly , meeting the scientific standards of reliability and validity .

List of equipment required 

The following is a list of the equipment you need to complete the functional senior fitness test test :

An armless chair - preferably a folding chair for stability
A stopwatch or watch with a second
5 pounds of weight for women
8 pounds of weight for men
Piece of string or rope about 30 "long

Cons - to track the number of repetitions completed or paper and pencil to keep track manually
